To the north-east of downtown is an older residential area with many homes dating back to Pre-World War II. The south-eastern are of Concord is primarily newer residential developed in the 1960s and 1970s. The south-west area is known as Four Corners and is a primarily Latino neighborhood. To north are of town is primarily industrial dominated by the Tesoro Golden Eagle refinery.
