Oakdale – Movies under the Stars

Movies Under the Stars at Cattle Woods Park, 1358 East J Street in Oakdale. The movies begin at dusk.  Although this is a free event, concessions are available for purchase and proceeds benefit Eric Medlen Park.

  • June 21- Dolphin Tail. Dive-In Movie at Royce Memorial Plunge, Dorada Park, 555 3rd Avenue, Oakdale. There is an admission charge for pool entry, 50 cents for kids and 1 dollar for adults.

Tonight’s showing is the adventure drama Hugo, directed by Martin Scorsese. The film received five Academy Awards and was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards. Based upon Brian Selznick’s novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret, the film tells the story of a boy who lives alone in a Paris railway station.

Fairfield Movies in the Park

A different movie will be featured throughout the summer on the first Friday of the month between May and October. In addition to the movies listed below, the Fairfield Fire Department will also have pre-show fun for the entire family. All movies begin at dusk at Village Green Park.

Thursday, July 26 – The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975/R) – starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick. Pre-movie: The Bawdy Caste performance group performing prior to – and during – the movie, including a group “Time Warp” dance.

A rock ‘n’ roll science fiction horror satire in which a young couple stumbles across a castle inhabited by crazies, including Dr. Frank N. Furter (Curry), a transvestite Frankenstein in rhinestone heels.

Thursday, August 23 – Singin’ In The Rain (1952/G) – starring Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds. Pre-movie: Broadway San Jose group participation dancing/lessons.

Silent film stars try to make their way in a world of sound and in finding true love. A classic film with one of the most memorable scenes of all time.

Cupertino – CINEMA AT SUNDOWN at the Memorial Park Amphitheater in Cupertino.

The park will be showing evening movies during the summer, you should check it out!

Take your blanket, some microwave popcorn, a pot of coffee or hot chocolate, and relax in the outdoors and watch a movie.
