Beginning their musical quest in 1969, Sage has stayed true to its mission of playing great R&B funk and soul. Over the years, the band has maintained the eight-piece member format for that big, full sound they like to deliver at live performances. Although based in San Jose, it was obvious from the beginning the solid rhythm section and blasting horn section felt the funk and soul influences of the East Bay. This FREE concert takes place in the Quad Area of Willow Glen Elementary School, 1525 Lincoln Ave., San Jose. Please bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. Ivory Winds is composed of pianist Geri Actor and flutist Jan Turnage. Geri Actor is a frequent contributor to several bay area musical groups as a keyboard player, percussionist and violist. Jan Turnage began her music journey at age seven with piano lessons and then flute in sixth grade. Guitarist Steve Lin has performed for audiences throughout the United States, Taiwan and Italy. He is a versatile musician in both solo and ensemble and maintains an extensive repertoire, spanning from the Renaissance to the Romantic.
