Century 21 M & M Cares and the Coats are Stacking Up

160x600-cb-coatsCoats for Kids is off to a great start during the first week of November 2009. We have collected over 250 coats from all of the twenty Century 21 M&M Real Estate offices. Our managers and their teams of over 750 realtors and staff have been out and about collecting and promoting the donation of Coats for Kids.

In the Century 21 M&M Real Estate Modesto office Marya Pimentel has involved her colleagues and staff in fun decorating activities, including using a 1917 trunk that belonged to her grandmother and was used to transport clothing and household items from the Azores Islands to Central California.

Marya says “I thought it was fitting to use this trunk as a reminder of all the children in our area needing a coat for this winter. Such a basic need is sometime outside of their family’s reach.”

Also, there are posters hung up all over the building, ornaments with the Coats for Kids logo hung on the tree in the reception area, and other tenants in the building have been asked to participate.

As of 11/6/09, the Modesto Century 21 M & M Real Estate office has collected 22 coats, their goal is 500. Marya Pimentel says “Go to my Facebook for pictures (and) daily postings.”

Bob Blower in the Lodi office says “Our agents are really excited about our new interest, Coats for Kids, in fact, on of my agents has her daughter collecting coats at her third grade class. They are excited at a chance to win a prize and do a class project.”

According to Bob the Century 21 M&M Real Estate Lodi Office is very active in the local community during the Holidays;

“Our participation in the annual Downtown Christmas Parade of Lights, in which our floats have

won several recognitions for their fun and beauty, kicks off the season of giving. Our two highest priorities have been the Christmas Can Tree and the Adopt-a-Child program.”

“The Lodi Association of Realtors annual Can Tree fund raises thousands of dollars for the purchase of meals for the needy during the holidays. Myrna Carter from our office spearheads the effort as the committee chair and also is one of the leaders in raffle ticket sales.”

“Several of our other agents also sell raffle tickets and most of our Century 21 M&M agents participate by purchasing the tickets. For fun, the Lodi Association of Realtors has an annual can stacking contest and we usually have two or three teams participate. Most of our other agents are there cheering them on!”

“The Adopt-a-Child program delivers toys at Christmas to children who otherwise would not receive them. The Lodi Century 21 M&M Real Estate office has raised over $3,000 over the last 3 years to help. The Adopt-a-Child organization is able to take the money and buy toys at wholesale prices so more kids are happy. It has been very satisfying to know that somewhere a child is smiling who may have been crying.”

John Melo, CEO of Century 21 M&M Real Estate, would like to encourage each an every Associate and staff member to bring in at least three Coats for Kids.

    Coats for Kids is the best feeling in the world. I have been involved with this for the last 7 years, the turning moment for me was 2 years ago when I helped deliver some coats to a pre-school, the smiling faces of little kids strutting their stuff; showing off their new coats was very, very moving. This is the most fun anyone could ever want to be involved with!!!

  3. Coats for Kids is such a great way to kick off the holiday season. Let’s get everyone involved!!We have 31 coats in our office today!
