It took just one day to make Realtor Sherry Dolen a believer in the power of the Century 21 M&M and Associates website.

Dolen, based at the Century 21 M&M’s Stockton office, formerly worked at a small realty firm in Fremont.  Her previous office did not embrace technology and did little to support its sales staff.

“Much of the reason I switched to Century 21 M&M is because my former company didn’t advertise and didn’t have a website,” said Dolen.  “It’s much easier working here.”

She recently discovered just how easy, while working the phone and floor at the Stockton office, located at 3201 Benjamin Holt Drive.

Dolen said she received a call from a Walnut Creek resident looking for a house in the Central Valley.  The potential buyer had scanned three well-known local real estate websites before going with Century 21 M&M.

“She said our website was the most informative, user friendly and showed organization,” said Dolen.  “So, she chose us.”

The next caller, also cited the comprehensive website for leading them to Century 21 M&M.  “Because we had such a great website, she felt that there would be great agents to go with it,” said Dolen.

Next, walk-in clients from Reno, inquired about Sherry Dolen helping them sell a rental house they own in Stockton.

“They researched the real estate companies in the area and also chose us because of our website,” said Dolen. “What a day!  Three new clients — all from the website.”

The progressive pair realized early on that the Internet would soon become the world’s largest real estate resource. According to industry figures, 89 percent of homebuyers begin their search online.

However, an effective website is much more than shifting printed MLS listings to the Internet.  As Dolen learned firsthand, a firm’s website has just seconds to grab a consumer’s attention.  If they don’t like what they see, they click to the next website.
